Ordinary buying

Buying on margin

You have VND100 million on balance and you can purchase just 2,000 FPT shares at VND50,000 per share.

You have VND100 million and borrow VND100 million to buy 4,000 FPT shares at VND50,000 per share.

If FPT rises to VND60,000, you will earn a profit of VND20 million (= 2,000 shares * VND10,000 per share incremented), or a profit margin of 20% on the initial investment value.

If FPT falls to VND40,000, you will lose VND20 million (= 2,000 shares * VND10,000 per share lost), or a loss margin of 20% on the initial investment value.

If FPT rises to VND60,000, you will earn a profit of VND40 million (= 4,000 shares * VND10,000 per share incremented), or a profit margin of 40% on the initial investment value.

If FPT falls to VND40,000, you will lose VND40 million (= 4,000 shares * VND10,000 per share lost), or a loss margin of 40% on the initial investment value.

How is margin trading at FPTS special?

Unlike other service providers, FPTS offers two types of margin trading for you to choose the best one for your needs: Margin trading by item (EzMargin/EzMortgage) and margin trading on buying power (EzMargin Pro).

- Margin trading enables you to apply for a margin loan and manage every item of loan based on each order placed to buy securities on margin or to mortgage securities. This category includes two products:

  • EzMargin (Buying on margin): Allowing you to purchase marginable securities with a part of your own cash and a part covered by FPTS. The shares purchased are be used as the collateral for margin loans
  • EzMortgage (Mortgaging securities): Allowing you to use securities available on account or purchased securities pending for clearing payment to borrow money from FPTS.

  • Margin trading on buying power enables you to use your entire assets in your account to borrow margin loans, a similar term as overdraft at banks.
