Intraday Buying Power Service (SMTN) is a service applied to customers using Margin trading on buying power (EzMarginPro) to otimize the buying power in short-term trading. Customers can easily register/cancel online via Eztrade or EzMobileTrading platforms. Customer’s changes will take effect in the following trading session.

Definitions and features of the Intraday Buying Power Service (SMTN):

- Intraday buying power service (SMTN) is an optional service in the Margin trading on buying power (EzMargin Pro) of FPTS, which Buying Power on the Customer’s account is increased at the start of each trading session based on calculating the Buying power rate (TLsm) for all margin stocks at the highest margin loan rate according to FPTS regulations (currently 50%). The increased buying power is only valid until the end of the trading session

- Leveraged by stocks in the account only applies to buying stocks, not to other transactions such as withdrawing/transfering money and exercising rights

- After the end of trading session, the margin loan rate (R) for the Customer’s account is calculated according to the Buying power rate (TLsm) of each margin stock

- Formula to calculate Intraday buying power:

Intraday buying power from stocks = Leveraged by stocks in the account Max - Leveraged by common stocks in the account

Wherein:

  • Leveraged by stocks in the account Max = Σ (Number of stocks * Loan price * Intraday TLsm)
  • Number of stocks = Maximum number of common stocks to calculate buying power + Maximum number of pending stocks to calculate buying power
  • Loan price = Min (Market price, Maximum loan price)
  • Intraday TLsm is the highest margin loan rate according to FPTS regulations

- Update number of Intraday buying power

At the time the stock market opens (usually at 19:00 on the previous trading day), number of intraday buy power will be calculated based on the list at that time and pushed up so that Customers can use it for the following trading session

  • Note: Number of intraday buying power is only updated for accounts in Safe status at the time of update
  • The highest margin rate applies to all pending stocks in the account at the time of update

- After FPTS runs the system at the end of daily trading session, the intraday buying power will be updated to equal 0, the rate R will be calculated based on the borrowing rate in the portfolio.
